A procedure in which a special, rotating surgical instrument is used to carefully polish away surface irregularities and make your skin smoother and younger looking. It can help "refinish" the skin's top layers through the method of controlled surgical scraping. This softens the sharp edges of surface irregularities. It can improve facial wrinkles, scarring left from acne, an accident or chicken pox. This procedure may be performed in areas or on the whole face; however, the best results
are gained when working on wide and shallow irregularities.
Microdermabrasion, commonly referred to as the "power peel" or "lunchtime peel" is the process of mechanically exfoliating the skin, helping reduce the appearance of fine lines, softening the skin, and reducing and eradicating hyperpigmentation. Also, microdermabrasion is used to treat scar reduction, stretchmarks and acne-prone skin. The process should be performed 4-12 times, depending on the level of correction necessary. Given the proper number of treatments, the dermis will be adequately stimulated to produce new cells and the stratum corneum will have been removed. Once the initial "corrective" or "rejuvenative" series has been completed, biannual treatments will maintain the results you have achieved.

During jowl reduction, a very common procedure, the surgeon removes the "buccal fat" from the interior jowl. This results in a more angular appearance which is very popular with actors and models. It can be done alone or together with cheek implants and/or liposuction of the jawline, depending on the look desired.
